As you probably know, schools across California have had their financial resources reduced by the state by $17 billion over the past three years.
In Marin County, our schools have lost $54 million dollars. Last month, the State of California announced it was postponing until October providing our schools with funding they were supposed to receive this month.
This means that $6,715,781 Marin County public schools were depending on to meet their financial obligations will not be available for at least 30 days.
Mary Jane Burke, Marin County Superintendent of Schools, is urging ALL residents of California to rise up and say "ENOUGH!"
