The Next Generation Green Schools Program is gearing up for its third year at Edna Maguire. Site Coordinator Rebecca Mullaney and third grade teacher Carrie Morgan will lead the
Green Team and Garden Club during lunch on Thursdays. If you're in third grade or higher, we encourage you to make a year-long commitment to one or both clubs. They're great ways to help your school and the environment-and have fun in the process!
The Green Team will meet in room 13 on the first and third Thursday of each month to work on projects such as reducing lunch waste, recycling, composting and conserving energy. On the remaining Thursdays, the Garden Club will gather in the garden. Members will perform maintenance, plant, harvest, cook, write, create art and hang out with the chickens.
The first the Green Team kicks off on September 16.
Families-you can help make Edna a greener school, too! Please remember to pack zero-waste lunches and practice the 4 R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot. For more information on the Next Generation Green Schools Program, go to
