Did you know that
23 percent of fatal car accidents happen on local and residential roads? And according to the World Health Organization,
car crashes are the number one cause of death for young persons, worldwide, between the ages of 10 and 24.
In the rush to get our kids to and from school, it's easy to get careless with our driving. Rolling through stop signs, driving too fast or being distracted by cell phones are just a few of the bad habits that can have deadly consequences--for our children, ourselves or others. Please remember to drive responsibly, especially around our schools. And be sure to
check out this flyer from
Street Smarts Marin for some great tips on protecting our kids on-- and around-- our roads.
