Last month, Edna fifth graders took a special emergency preparation class based on the popular "Get Ready" program. Get Ready Fifth Grade participants completed exercises and discussed emergencies they might experience, such as earthquakes, fires and floods. They also learned about creating a family emergency plan, what supplies they would need to shelter at home, and what to take with them in an evacuation. Parents interested in taking the original "Get Ready" class can call 380-1105 for information.
