The Site Council's primary purpose is to brainstorm and coordinate
improvements for the students at Edna Maguire, and to work with the
principal to implement the school site plan. The council consists of
Principal Lisa Zimmer, five parents, and typically consists of five staff members. The parent
members commit to serve a three-year term.
In 2007-08, the Site Council focussed on The Edna School Site Plan, innovative teaching grants for Edna teachers,nutrition and wellness;especially healthy eating habits. The group addressed the growing concern about nut allergies within our school, class
party protocol, and birthday snacks.
If you value collaborative decision-making and parent-staff interaction, the
Site Council is the place for you.
Site Council Meetings for 2008-09 take place on Mondays at 3pm in the
Teachers' Lounge. The dates are as follows: September 15, October 20,
November 17, December 15, January 12, February 23, March 16, April 20, May
18.
